Helsingborgs Bryggeri
The roots of Helsingborgs bryggeri goes as far back as to the 19th century. The brewery shut down in 1967 to be reinstated in 2010 by two beer-enthusiasts in a building from 1880, just beside the original location. A year after the second launch the first beer was released; “Helsingborgs Lager”. Later that year the beer was awarded Sweden’s best bright lager award 2011 at the Gothenburg Beer Festival. With over 20 different beers in the regular stock you can find different variations of IPA, APA, Lager, Stout and weissbier. Outside of the regular stock they have seasonal beers for all the seasons throughout the year. Their APA “Funkey Monkey” was awarded gold at the Stockholm Beer & Whiskey Festival in 2015. The hop for this ale comes from the highly esteemed Pacific Northwest and the taste has a hint of mango, citrus and orange marmalade.
Beer tasting is offered at the brewery and tours for up to 150 people per group, the tasting can also be combined with food. On the 12th of May the brewery is celebrating its 7-year anniversary with beer, food and music with tickets available for purchase at their website. For people who are especially interested and want to be active participants in the brewery you can register to be a member in the brewery’s own “beer club”. Members in the beer club are offered invites to events, exclusive tastings of new beers before release and a chance to share their knowledge of beer with other members.
